The Silver Lofts – Phase 1

ArchitectsCalott + Gifford Architecture/Urban Design
Owner – Infill Solutions
Contractor – Enterprise Builders

  • Simplicity of plan yet complex, risky.
  • Simple and rich, good use of materials to meet the budget, i.e. variety and shape of windows.
  • Bold use of color in the important places – repressed the colors on areas that did not need additional attention.
  • Good use of vertical space design and having an auto court!
  • Trendsetting project.
  • WORTHY OF NATIONAL RECOGNITION

MERIT AWARD

Contractor – Klinger Construction

  • Not afraid of letting the space be what it is – exposing the materials and structure, but expressing through new materials, finishes, color, furnishings and equipment what interior architect can accomplish.
  • Bold use of color
  • Not afraid to be contemporary
  • Exudes design

Monahan House

Owner – Chuck & Gale Monahan
Contractor – Hurlocker Properties

  • Strong circulation spine – liked the way spaces are organized around the spine.
  • The interior is handled in a sophisticated way with sophisticated materials and craftsmanship – not like a prefabricated system.  The interior is the most successful aspect of the design.
  • Liked the AM and PM patios, The overall design seems right for the region.

Rio Grande School –
Multi Media Center & Classroom

  • Simple, nice spaces.
  • Organizing hallway that captures views, natural light and breezes.
  • Liked the water harvesting, highlighting of entry, and skylights.
  • Great design ability – continue the development.

Santa Fe Rape Crisis Center

Owner – Santa Fe Rape Crisis Center
Contractor – John G. Rehders

  • Great siting for passive solar orientation.
  • Good water harvesting and nice use of color and textural items like wood and corregated metal.
  • Detailing is clean, well thought out plan – all comes together.
  • Appreciated the welcoming and secure feel of the courtyard entry.
