Are you Eligible for Emeritus Status?

by admin on December 28, 2011

Emeritus AIA members can be Associates or Architect members.  You do not need to be FAIA or retired.

The advantages of Emeritus status include: no mandatory dues, keep your original designation (AIA, Associate, Architect), same benefits as regular membership, do not need to complete continuing education hours.

The Emeritus Elevation Application must be filled out and sent to the address on the application (not to our local chapter!).

Any Architect or Associate member may apply for Emeritus status who has been in good standing in the Institute for fifteen successive years (this means dues paid and continuing education completed) immediately prior to his or her application, AND either
(i) has attained the age of 65, or
(ii) has achieved architect emeritus status under law in any state of the United States or
(iii) is so incapacitated as to be unable to work in the profession.
