AIA Santa Fe
Santa Fe, NM

Hello Architects and Designers,

My name is Todd Young. I am an Architect in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I am writing to see if you have any need for additional support or architectural assistance.

My wife and I are relocating to Santa Fe, New Mexico. We not only love Santa Fe, but we have relatives there as well. Enid Tidwell is our aunt. She is an Artist, volunteer, on the Board of Directors for the Garden Tour and is on the State Board of Landscape Architecture.

I currently have my own Architecture Practice, TY. ARCH llc. I have worked for several great firms in Colorado. I am creative, able to put a set of Construction Documents together, and I deal well with clients. I practice ecological design, work in space first and then form and structure and I love the human milieu and the meaning of architecture. I attempt to design for health and wellness. I am seeking collaboration, diversity and channels for design.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Todd Young, AIA
Architect

TREND Magazine advertising special

by admin on June 29, 2011

To all AIA Santa Fe Architect members:

Remember we recently traded with Trend Magazine: an AIASF full page ad in exchange for a Gold Allied membership?

We now have a unique opportunity to collaboratively advertise in the September fall/ winter through April 2012 architecture issue of Trend Magazine here in Santa Fe with free BONUS ADVERTORIALS on completed projects.

Essentially: purchase a 1/2-page or full-page ad and receive a same-sized “TREND SOURCE Bonus”.

Our deadlines are:

Space reservation and TRENDSOURCE BONUS due July 20

Press-ready ads are due August 14.

A discounted advertising “Special” is available to AIASF members ONLY:

For details on our “special one-time contract pricing”, call:

Cynthia Canyon (505) 470-6442 or cynthia@santafetrend.com

Benjamin Fletcher (908) 425-7382 or trendadvertise@gmail.com

For more info see:

See http://www.santafetrend.com/advertise.html

then http://www.santafetrend.com/images/adrates/june2011/TREND_RateCard_till_July20_web.pdf

then http://www.santafetrend.com/images/adrates/june2011/Trend_V12.2_Ad%20Specs_July20.pdf

If enough pages are filled collaboratively by AIASF members, then AIASF will again receive a free full -page ad.

Publishing two times a year, at 35,000 copies nationwide, TREND is devoted to becoming the country’s favorite art, architecture, and design magazine. By advertising in this issue, you can take advantage of our expanding reach to your potential customers both near and far.

The next issue of TREND magazine, which will be published mid-September 2011, will feature architecture and design. When you advertise in this issue, your company is positioned to receive a project bonus in our special TRENDSource section of the magazine.

TREND is prepared to double your advertising exposure. When you choose to purchase a full-page ad (or a half-page minimum) in our next two issues, TREND is prepared to donate an equal-sized bonus on a specific project your company completed. Therefore, your ad would foreshadow a finished product presented again later in the magazine. We provide you outstanding photography and presentation—a trademark of TREND—for the bonus section focusing on significant projects of merit. Readers will love to read about and see what you have accomplished lately.

Collaborations with your professional partners: this advertising has a cumulative effect.

If you have worked on a project with another architect, designer, or supplier, TREND can feature the whole project. The size of this feature will depend on the amount of project advertisers. For example, four separate half-page advertisers of the same project would become a two-page spread bonus featuring your collaborators and highlighting each of the companies’ roles in the project as a whole in TRENDSource, a magazine within a magazine. Please see half-page, full-page, and two-page spread examples of what this will look like.

How Much Does Your Building Weigh Mr. Foster?

More information

Norman Foster design the Beijing Airport (the largest building in the world), the Reichstag in Berlin, the renovations to the Hearst Building in New York, the world’s tallest bridge, in Millau, France, and now the Spaceport in southern New Mexico.

This film reveals his dedication to improving lives through design. This admiring, hugely enjoyable, largely uncritical documentary on Norman Foster follows the career of Britain’s most successful living architect, from Manchester, where he was born quite literally on the wrong side of the tracks (a railway line separated his parents’ working-class home from a prosperous middle-class area), via Yale to international renown.

Foster is an eloquent speaker with a touch of Lancashire in his voice, a likable man, who uses a sketch pad as a way of thinking, and we get to see stunningly photographed images of his work from Manhattan to Beijing, including his breathtaking Millau Viaduct over the Gorges du Tarn.

The commentary is written and spoken by the architecture critic and director of the Design Museum Deyan Sudjic, and the question in the title was posed by Buckminster Fuller when he flew with Foster over the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts at the University of East Anglia.

The film will be introduced by AIA Santa Fe’s Steve Oles, described by the AIA as “the dean of architectural illustrators in America,” and a colleague of I.M. Pei.
