Senior Project Architect
Hoopes + Associates Architects, an award-winning architectural firm in Santa Fe, New Mexico is looking for a Senior Project Architect.
Since its founding in 1992, the firm has gained the reputation as one of Santa Fe’s top architectural design studios specializing in contemporary southwest architecture. Deeply committed to community, pragmatic design and enduring architecture, most of our work is directed toward new construction of custom residential and smaller commercial buildings, but also includes historical restoration and redesign of older adobe structures.
The position for which we are advertising is related to our residential clientele, many of whom are establishing a first or second home from which to work away from large metropolitan areas and others who are wanting to retire in a smaller city, but with the urban amenities to which all have become accustomed.
The full-time Senior Project Architect position requires a depth of experience to work independently through all phases of a design project, as well to communicate knowledgably with both Project Managers and clients in an interactive and collaborative way. Minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university and at least 4 years of experience, 3 of which must be in the design of custom homes in a modern or contemporary architectural style.
Our pay is very competitive and varies with experience. Benefits are also competitive,
with 100% employer contribution to a health care plan and accommodation for personal time off, vacation and holidays. Located in Santa Fe, the capital of New Mexico, with a population of roughly 70-80,000, it is the fastest growing area in New Mexico, as confirmed by construction statistics. Also, with Albuquerque just 55 miles away, train service is available with a partial travel stipend for those who prefer a larger metro area.
This is a significant opportunity for someone who has the desire to gain valuable project management experience, while working closely with our seasoned team. The premise of this hire is that a promotion to Project Manager is a realistic goal.
