Job Description:
High Desert Architecture is seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Superintendent / Project Manager to lead and oversee high-end custom residential construction projects. This role is ideal for a highly organized, hands-on professional who can manage daily jobsite operations, coordinate field activity, and help build and lead a dependable labor crew.
The ideal candidate will have proven residential construction experience, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results. This person must be able to keep projects moving efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard of craftsmanship. Having an established labor crew already in place is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily jobsite operations for custom residential construction projects.
Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules, quality control, communication, and jobsite organization.
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, inspections, and field schedules.
Maintain quality control and ensure all work is performed according to plans, specifications, and company standards.
Provide regular daily updates to company leadership.
Communicate professionally with project managers, architects, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and ownership as needed.
Identify and resolve field issues quickly, efficiently, and professionally.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
Supervise and lead a dependable in-house labor crew.
Direct laborers on daily tasks, including site prep, cleanup, material handling, punch work, and other field needs.
Track progress, document site conditions, and help keep projects on schedule.
Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed and conduct regular site inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience in residential construction, preferably custom or luxury homes.
Proven ability to manage subcontractors, vendors, and field crews.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to bring an established labor crew is strongly preferred.
Hands-on construction experience and knowledge across multiple trades.
Ability to read, understand, and execute construction drawings and specifications.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Reliable, professional, and able to take ownership of the jobsite.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete required employment eligibility verification upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Established labor crew already in place.
Experience building, managing, and leading labor crews.
Background in carpentry, framing, finish work, and general construction.
Experience with high-end residential projects.
Familiarity with Santa Fe-area inspectors, building codes, construction practices, subcontractors, and local building standards.

Work under firm Principal / Project Architect for development of working drawings for bidding, Permitting & Construction for a variety of project types ranging from small to large scale projects.
Conceptual design work including 3d Modeling, rendering and presentation graphics.
